Pranayama – Breath control

Pranayama is the measuring, control, retention and directing of the breath. Pranayama controls the energy, the life force, (prana) within the body. Calming the breath will calm the mind, allowing ourselves to feel a deeper connection between body and mind. Different breathing control techniques within yoga practice allow us to pay close attention to our inhales and exhales, and to remain conscious of how energy flows into the body.
